Bask in God’s spiritual light. New creature in Christ, child of God our Father, heir of salvation, brother or sister in the Lord, saint—holy one made holy by the blood of the Lamb, hear what the Holy Spirit says to you. God called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:8-10
You are a vital part of God’s people, who have obtained mercy. Walk in God’s spiritual light and continue to grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Messiah (Eph 4:15-16).
Shine as light in this dark world. “You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Mt 5:14-16).
Bask in God’s spiritual light and love your brothers and sisters in the Lord (Ps 97:11-12).
Do the good works God created you in Messiah Jesus to do. “4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Messiah—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Messiah Yeshua, 7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Messiah Yeshua; 8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, that no one would boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Messiah Yeshua for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them” (Eph 2:4-10).
Be at peace among yourselves. 14 We exhort you, brothers (and sisters): Admonish the disorderly; encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient toward all. 15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
16 Always rejoice. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Messiah Yeshua toward you. 19 Don’t quench the Spirit. 20 Don’t despise prophecies. 21 Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.
23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
24 He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:13b-24
