Paul revealed our Father’s family connections to the Ephesians and us. “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 1to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21 NASB
Then Paul urged the Ephesians and us to walk in them. “Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians 4:1-5 NASB
The body of Christ thrives in deep one another relationships when Messiah connects us with one another and we in love serve one another. We serve one another by lovingly putting out thoughts and words and actions to work in His body. We help one another through personal interaction with our brothers and sisters in Messiah. By demonstrating our togetherness with one who feels alone and lonely. Striking up friendships. Listening to another. Speaking to another. Encouraging another. Sharing the practical gems we have learned about relating with one another. Helping another. Confiding in one we trust. Doing the will of our Father in heaven.
Messiah Jesus shows us. “Here are my mother and my brothers, because whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Matthew 12:49-50 ISV “Lo, my mother and my brethren! for whoever may do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.” Matthew 12:49-50 YLT
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” 1 John 4:7 KJV
“… we pray always for you, that He may count you worthy of the calling of our God, and He may fulfill every good pleasure of goodness and work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:10-12).
