Holy Spirit

Jesus “has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out this which you see and hear.” Acts 2:32-33 WNT

Jesus assured His followers they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

After Jesus ascended into heaven, he proclaimed God’s Kingdom for 40 days.

In my first book, Theophilus, I wrote about everything Jesus did and taught from the beginning, up to the day when he was taken up to heaven after giving orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After he had suffered, he had shown himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during a period of 40 days and telling them about the kingdom of God.

While he was meeting with them, he ordered them,

“Don’t leave Jerusalem. Instead, wait for what the Father has promised, about which you heard me speak, because John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit a few days from now.” Acts 1:1-5 ISV

Paul encouraged the Corinthians and us not to be ignorant of spiritual things.

And concerning the spiritual things, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant; ye have known that ye were nations, unto the dumb idols—as ye were led—being carried away; wherefore, I give you to understand that no one, in the Spirit of God speaking, saith Jesus [is] anathema, and no one is able to say Jesus [is] Lord, except in the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:1-3 YLT

Paul encouraged the Ephesians and us to grow up in all things into him who is the head, Messiah

11 He gave some to be emissaries; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds* and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the holy ones, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Messiah, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Messiah, 14 that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; 15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Messiah, 16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16 WMB
