Messiah Jesus reigns over God’s people through blessings, grace and truth.”14 The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born† Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 Yochanan testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’ ” 16 From his fullness we all received grace upon grace. 17 For the Torah was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Yeshua the Messiah.‡ 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only born§ Son,** who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.“ John 1:14-18
Messiah Jesus reigns through every spiritual blessing God our Father brought upon us in and through him.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Messiah, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, 5 having predestined us for adoption as children through Yeshua the Messiah to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire, 6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved. 7 In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace 8 which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, Ephesians 1:3-8
Messiah Jesus reigns in grace through righteousness.
Messiah Jesus shed his blood for us on the cross (Mt 26:28: Mk 14:24; Lk 22:20; 1 Cor 11:25). Through that one act of righteousness (Ro 5:18), Messiah Jesus made us holy and without defect before God in love. (Eph 1:4; Col 1:21-23). Through His covenant justice, God declared us in the right as He is in the right.
“God put Jesus forth as the place of mercy, through faithfulness, by means of his blood. He did this to demonstrate his covenant justice, because of the passing over (in divine forbearance) of sins committed beforehand. This was to demonstrate his covenant justice in the present time: that is, that he himself is in the right, and that he declares to be in the right everyone who trusts in the faithfulness of Jesus.” Romans 3:25-26 THE KINGDOM NEW TESTAMENT N.T. Wright
8 So then as through one trespass, all men were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all men were justified to life. 19 For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous. 20 The law came in that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly, 21 that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Yeshua the Messiah our Lord. Romans 5:18-21
We draw near to the throne of grace where Messiah sets at the right hand of God in heaven (Col 3:1; Heb 12:2)
14 Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession. 15 For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. 16 Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16
