Live a noble life noble life among the people of the world. “Dear friends, I urge you, as guests and strangers in the world: Refuse to do what the body wants, because its appetites fight against the soul. Live a noble life among the people of the world, that instead of accusing you of doing wrong, they may see the good you do and glorify God when He visits them.” 1 Peter 2:11-12 AAT
The the most important way we proclaim the gospel of the kingdom is thru our actions. By them, we glorify God in our body. (1 Cor 6:20)
When we live that way, Pagans are led by God to be believe Jesus is the Messiah and be born again and enter the kingdom by the Holy Spirit. (John 3:1-8)
The context for Peter exhorting his readers, including us, to live a noble life begins in the first chapter of his letter.
13 Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah— 14 as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance, 15 but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior, 16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16
For Messiah Jesus has “freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father.”
Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, 5and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wailb on account of him. Even so. Amen. Revelations 1:4-7 ESV (Col 1:9-14)
Most of the Jews rejected Messiah Jesus. But God made those who believed in him and we who believe in him a people for His own possession to proclaim the excellence of him.
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10
