27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30 WMB
Jesus calling us My sheep reveals we are His. God our Father has given us to Jesus.
God gave us ears to hear His voice. We heard Jesus from the Bible as we heard His words read to us, taught to us, preached to us or read them ourselves. By His Word and His Spirit, God called us and by His grace, gave us hearts respond in faith. By the blessings of God, we hear Jesus our King leading us by the Word and the Spirit.
We hear Jesus by His Spirit within us. Jesus knew He would have to lay down His life for His sheep, be resurrected and ascend to heaven before God could send the Holy Spirit. He did and God our Father did. Jesus tells us we are His own. He knows us even as our Father knows Him. He brings more and more to hear His voice as we follow Him and we become one flock with one Shepherd.
Now, we hear, know, love and obey Jesus as our Shepherd King by the Holy Spirit.
Our Messiah Jesus must rule as King until the last enemy is conquered. The last enemy is death. Death will be conquered at our resurrection.
We serve Christ Jesus by our right conduct, peace and joy through the Holy Spirit and God takes pleasure in us.
20 Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Yeshua, 21 make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Yeshua the Messiah, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Heb 13:20-21 WMB
