Sticking together as God’s new creatures walking in this world is through the blessing God has blessed us with, which help each one of us in our sticking together with one another.
God fits us together in the unity of the Spirit. “There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one immersion, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.” Ephesians 4:4-6
We stick together as God’s new creatures with a kindred spirit as fellow members of the body of Messiah and fellow citizens of the kingdom when we set our mind on things that are above.
Sticking together with a kindred spirit.
Finally, brethren (brothers and sisters), rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. 2 Corinthians 13:11-12
Sticking together as fellow members of the body of Messiah.
1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one immersion, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all. 7 But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Messiah. Ephesians 4:1-7 (Eph 4:8-31)
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Yeshua answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. I also tell you that you are Peter,* and on this rock † I will build my assembly, and the gates of Sheol‡ will not prevail against it. I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.” Matthew 16:16-19
Sticking together as fellow citizens of the kingdom of God.
For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:20-21
But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Messiah—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Messiah Yeshua, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Messiah Yeshua. Ephesians 2:4-7
So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and of the household of God, being built on the foundation of the emissaries and prophets, Messiah Yeshua himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22
All of us are assembled together in the festive assembly of the firstborn. “…you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, to tens of thousands of angels joyfully gathered together,to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to a judge who is the God of all, to the spirits of righteous people who have been made perfect,to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better message than Abel’s. Hebrews 12:22-24
Yochanan, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;and from Yeshua the Messiah, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood—and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests✡ to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.Revelation 1:4-6 (1 Cor 15:20-28)
Thus, we stick together with a kindred spirit as fellow members of the body of Messiah and fellow citizens of the kingdom when we set our minds on things that are above.
If then you were raised together with Messiah, seek the things that are above, where Messiah is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Messiah in God.When Messiah, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4 (1 Peter 3:13-22)
Note: Believers have spiritually “died” to the Law as a means of life, Galatians 2:19 ; Colossians 2:20 ; to sin, Romans 6:2 , and in general to all spiritual association with the world and with that which pertained to their unregenerate state, Colossians 3:3 , because of their identification with the “death” of Christ, Romans 6:8.
